In the beginning…

At the start of 2016 we decided to create a fortnightly blog that focused on digital transformation in government (DTIG). Since then we’ve been blogging once a fortnight covering both conceptual issues for DTIG and specific case studies.

The best of 2017

So, our favourite six for the year…

  • Global innovators since the 1990s (Issue #25, 16 January 2017) Australia invented wireless local area network (the technology WiFi uses), a case of digital transformation that changed the world.

  • The Blockchain revolution (Issue #33, 16 May 2017) Find out about the many applications of Blockchain, including a myriad of government applications.

  • Government standouts at the IoT Awards (Issue #35, 13 June 2017) The government finalists and winner from the inaugural Australian IoT Awards.

  • Rubbish goes underground (Issue #37, 11 July 2017) Maroochydore’s new city centre in the Sunshine Coast is going high-tech with an underground waste system.

  • The digital pioneers (Issue #41, 5 September 2017) When it comes to digital transformation one country keeps popping up — Estonia!

  • Artificial intelligence in government (Issue #44, 17 October 2017) How can/does government use and benefit from AI?

Salsa Digital’s take

We’ve had a fantastic time covering digital transformation in government for 2017. We hope you’ve enjoyed the blogs, learnt something new and maybe even used the content to inform your agency’s decisions and actions.

We hope you’ve had a great digital transformation year and we’re looking forward to continuing this journey with you in 2018.
